What is Spinal Flow?
Spinal Flow Technique is rooted in a simple and profound truth: your body is always moving toward healing. Spinal Flow removes what stands in the way gently, precisely, and with lasting change. It is where the wisdom of energy work meets the science of nervous system healing.
Your spine and nervous system are the master controllers of your body communicating between brain, organs, tissues and cells in every moment.
Spinal Flow is a therapeutic technique focused on optimizing the flow of life force energy (what some call chi, prana, or simply flow) and information through the nervous system. When that communication moves freely, the body moves naturally toward ease, repair and wellbeing.
Spinal Flow works by accessing points along the spine, mostly concentrated in the sacrum and cranium where the nervous system is most receptive to communication. Through gentle, intentional touch at these access points, we utilize your body’s innate wisdom to release spinal blockages and layers of stored stress, inviting it back into its natural state of healing.
What Gets Stored in the Spine and Nervous System
Modern life asks a great deal of the body. Over time, three forms of stress accumulate as spinal blockages that disrupt the nervous systems natural intelligence and your life force from flowing freely. These blockages quietly shape how we feel, move and function:
Emotional Stress - unprocessed experiences, grief, trauma, and the weight of what we carry but have never fully set down
Physical Stress - accidents, injury, postural strain, the body held too long in tension
Chemical Stress - what we eat, what we absorb from environment and the products we use, the invisible load our physiology processes daily
These blockages don’t always announce themselves loudly. They can show up as pain that doesn’t resolve, sleep that doesn’t restore, a sense of being disconnected from yourself that you can’t quite name.
Spinal Flow doesn’t force the body to release this stress. It creates the conditions of safety and stillness with precise contact in which the body chooses to move into a state of ease.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Sessions are performed fully clothed, lying face down on a massage table. Bolsters are placed under the pelvis and sacrum — a key gateway for energy in the body. From there, gentle light touch is applied to specific access points along the sacrum and cranium, while other parts of the body may be touched in order to guide flow.
Most people describe the experience as deeply relaxing — some feel warmth, tingling, or spontaneous twitching or movement as the body begins to release. Others feel nothing, simply still and held. Whatever you experience, or don’t, the work is happening. Every session is different because every body is different.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Please wear or bring pants or shorts with fabric thin enough to allow contact with your sacrum. Thick waistbands, heavy seams, or denim make it difficult to access this key gateway effectively.
If you have long hair, please bring a hair tie.

Everyone responds to Spinal Flow differently. You may feel energized, tired, or somewhere in between. All of it is part of the process.
A few ways to support yourself after a session: rest as needed and honor what your body is asking for. Increase your water intake (as safely able) to help move stress and toxins through the system. Stay in relationship with any emotions that arise; journaling can be a beautiful companion to the integration process.
Sometimes symptoms feel more pronounced before they ease. That's not a setback, it's a sign your system is changing. Your body is wise. Trust the process.

Movement is just one of the ways flow shows up in the body. While some people experience clear and pronounced movement on the table, most do not, and that is completely normal.
If you don't move, it doesn't mean the work isn't effective. Change is happening regardless. The key is keeping your awareness authentically with your body and allowing whatever comes, without attachment to outcome.

Spinal Flow is designed to work the same way stress accumulates — in layers, over time, each session building on the last.
How many sessions you need depends on what your body is holding, how long it has been held, and how your nervous system responds. After your initial assessment, I will share my observations and we will discuss a path forward together that feels right for you.
What we do know is that the nervous system learns and adapts with each session, opening more deeply over time as it recognizes the safety of the work. Most people notice meaningful shifts within the first few sessions and continue because they want to go deeper.
We will assess your progress together and adjust as we go. You are always in the driver's seat.

Anyone and everyone. Spinal Flow is gentle enough for all ages and all bodies — from children to seniors, from those navigating acute health conditions to those simply seeking deeper connection to self.
Given that the body directs it’s own healing, there are no contraindications to this work.

Unlike chiropractic, Spinal Flow involves no manual adjustments, cracking or manipulation of the spine. Unlike massage, it does not work directly with muscles or fascia.
Spinal Flow is a gentler approach, one that relies on the body's own innate wisdom to direct its healing in the order and intensity it deems appropriate. Rather than imposing a correction from the outside, we create the conditions for the body to correct itself from within.
As a practitioner, I am the facilitator. The body is the healer.
